American Red Cross Selects New Executive Director for Florida’s Southern Gulf Chapter
NAPLES, FL (September 15, 2015) – The American Red Cross of South Florida is pleased to announce that Jamie Andersen has been selected as the new Executive Director for the Florida’s Southern Gulf Chapter. In this role Andersen will provide leadership to hundreds of volunteers as they support over 1 million residents in Collier, Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties with lifesaving programs and services that help residents to prepare, respond to, and recover from emergencies both big and small.
“Jamie is a remarkable leader who knows and loves the community,” said Alfred Sanchez, Regional Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross of South Florida, “Her experience with the financial services industry combined with her network in the Southern Gulf will be of tremendous support towards our efforts to deliver the Red Cross mission.”Andersen, raised in Southwest Florida, joins the American Red Cross after a decade of working in the financial services industry. Based in Manhattan, she was an Executive Director at J.P. Morgan working with the firm’s largest corporate and wealth management clients. Well versed in the financial industry, Andersen also worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, there she helped to build its cross-divisional sales organization in addition to providing strategic advice to large-cap industrial clients.
Andersen is a magna cum laude graduate of Wellesley College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and served as College Government President. She remains an active volunteer in the Wellesley community, driving recruiting, mentoring and fundraising efforts.
