On September 20, Charity Godfrey of the American Red Cross attended Florida Gulf Coast University’s Community Service Learning Fair. As hundreds of students walked around the fair learning about ways to volunteer in their local community, Godfrey was there to promote service opportunities through the FGCU Red Cross Club. As members of the Red Cross Club, students go out into the community and hold educational programs on topics such as disaster education, water safety, hygiene and stranger danger. The event was a successful morning with 37 students signing up for further information on how to partner with the Red Cross in their service learning projects. Many students were learning about the American Red Cross for the first time!
