Carl Westman honored with Collier Red Cross Legacy Award

Each year, the Collier County Red Cross recognizes one community member who has made outstanding contributions in the promotion of planned giving and philanthropic endeavors. This person represents great ethical practices, judgment and service to their clients.
Carl E. Westman, Esq. is an attorney in the Naples office of GrayRobinson, P.A., and practices in the areas of estate planning, charitable planning, and estate administration.
Mr. Westman served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees (2005-2010) and Trustee (1992-2011) of the NCH Healthcare System, Inc., and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees (2001-2010) and Trustee (1992-2011) of Naples Community Hospital, Inc.
Since 1976, Mr. Westman has been a member of the Estate Planning Council of Naples. He served as the President and Director of the Marco Island Marina Association (MIMA) from 2005 to 2011. He was also a member of the Dean’s Council of the University of Miami, Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, and he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Aquarium Foundation in Tampa. Mr. Westman is a former Vice-President of the Community Foundation of Collier County, and he served as the Collier District Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America, Southwest Florida Council, for four years. Mr. Westman is a former Chairman, of the David Lawrence Foundation, and he served on the Board of Trustees of Pikeville University from 1993 to 2005. In 1979, Mr. Westman served the American Red Cross of Collier County as 1st Vice-Chairman and as Chairman of the Executive Committee.
Mr. Westman is a Martindale-Hubbell “AV” Rated attorney, a member of the Florida Bar (Real Property, Probate and Trust Law) and (Health Law) Sections. He is also a founding member of the Trusts and Estates Section of the Collier County Bar Association. His practice includes the U.S. Tax Court and U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.
Mr. Westman received his B.B.A. from Sam Houston State University, a J.D. and L.L.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami.
