Number of Lee Red Cross Volunteers to disasters continues to grow!
On Wednesday, May 11 th, three additional Lee County Red Cross Volunteers deployed to the disasters in the Southeastern United States. Janet Michelle (DMH) manager and Sharon Nowling (DMH) both reported to Northern Mississippi. Ron Green left to work as an Emergency Response Vehicle (ERV) driver in Tennessee. Upon her arrival in Mississippi, Janet was appointed to oversee all of the mental health workers in all of the shelters opened by the American Red Cross in that area. As flooding adds its misery to the areas already hit by tornadoes it is expected that additional shelters will be opened and manpower to work those shelters will be needed.
