Southwest Florida Symphony concertmaster Reiko Niiya held a special performance April 3 at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Fort Myers to help raise funds for the relief efforts following the Japan earthquake and tsunami. Over 300 people donated at least $25 to attend the event, which was also organized by Yuki Dougherty. In total, $10,239.72 was raised and delivered to the Red Cross of Lee County, all of which will be transferred to the national Red Cross to be used toward our efforts in Japan. Thank you to Reiko, Yuki and everyone else who made this outstanding donation possible.
