Designed as a fun fundraiser
One of the perks of the Red Cross is that sometimes you get to do really cool things in support of a really good cause. Actually, now that we’re thinking about it…pretty much everything we do is really cool because it’s for a good cause. (When you know your actions will be helping people during their hour of greatest need, it adds a certain element of awe).
The Martin County Chapter Designers’ Show House is one such event that epitomizes the cool/beneficial combination. Like all Red Cross events, the funds raised help us to continue providing disaster relief, a concept especially important in these days leading up to hurricane season and with the current string of severe storms and tornadoes.
If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of a Designers’ Show House, imagine a beautiful mansion in Sewall’s Point, sitting on the waterfront of the St. Lucie River…add to that the professional interior design choices of 15 different designers…and a sprinkle of this year’s “West Indies” theme. Now mix in the chance to tour each room – whether you are looking into hiring a designer for your own home, trying to adapt the decoration ideas to a personalized style, or you just enjoy looking at beautiful things. Top everything off with a small shopping boutique of eclectic, classy and modern jewelry by Susan’s Jewelry, who’s proceeds will benefit the Red Cross too.
The images below are from the Preview Party for the Designers’ Show House, which was a chance for people to see the house before it opened its doors to the public. But if you missed the party, don’t worry! The house is opened until Sunday, April 10 so you still have time to support our vital humanitarian mission while also enjoying the stunning rooms.
