Lying about our age (but for a good cause!)

Okay, so technically these posters are a bit outdated. The American Red Cross Martin County Chapter has been operating since 1926, which means we’ve been serving the community for 85 years, not just 80 years. We’ll try to get revised banners soon, but we figured such a small discrepancy wasn’t worth the expense of printing new ones (after all, we make sure 91 cents of every dollar we spend is invested in humanitarian services and programs. Donor contributions are something we don’t take lightly).

Hey, at 85 years old, who can blame us for fudging our age a bit?

Regardless of the mathematical technicalities, we still love these banners on the main streets of downtown Stuart. The city was wonderful enough to hang them up for us and help us spread the word about March as Red Cross Month.

The banners will only be hanging up for a little while longer, but don’t worry that doesn’t mean we won’t stop the Red Cross Month celebrations!
